This is one of my all-time favorite works of art. It combines history and art in one. The base is adapted from an 1800s trunk that undoubtedly served someone on their journies through the old west. The interior of the case is a hand-painted replica of an indian blanket, the pendulum, a horseshoe. The upper case is all wood, including hand carved "leather" appearing straps. The case is hand polished, velvety-rough wood and is a 7 step process to accomplish the finish which still shows the saw kerfs from its original cuts from the mill.The door pulls are wood replicas of bullets.
