HERE COMES
THE SUN
Oil
on canvas
16 X 30"
This scene, across Hwy. 22 from the Stayton pond, was discovered at 6:30 a.m. on a photo shooting trip to Sisters and back. The soft morning light created a very serene and peaceful mood that I could capture best in oils, and the final is much like what I experienced at the time of discovery. I shot 300 photos until 3 p.m. but still ended up using this one -- the first stop of the day! The 18" x 30" original was sold for $3,000 at the 2007 Clay Ball, a benefit event for the Salem Art Association, and was the second highest money winner for the event.
